    This same issue just happened to me. I had the mana to activate the Charbelcher during my upkeep. But as soon as the game turned to my turn, it just told me I lost the game. No stack. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200. This cost me the game.

    I cast Pact of Negation during my opponent's turn, and had Charbelcher in play. I used FULL CONTROL (hit the Control button). The game went to my turn. My lands untapped. And instead of allowing me to tap mana to use the Charbelcher, the game killed me outright. This shouldn't happen at all, let alone when I have Control activated.
