Keep Alchemy as a stand-alone format. If you want to balance inside of Alchemy, great, do that and keep it an ultra-balanced/competitive format. If the Alchemy idea works as a competitive format, then true competitors will play it because of its even balance of competition. Keep Standard and Historic in line with the printed cards and separate from Alchemy. The wildcard crafting method is punished greatly by your scheduled rebalancing practice.
