Spelltable camera feed bug: feed shows black bars on each side, obstructing left and right edge of the video
Camera: HD Pro Webcam C920, front-facing laptop camera, any other device I tried it on
Issue: A few days ago (at the time of writing) black bars suddenly appeared on the side of the video feed, obstructing the left and right side of the video. This has been the case for every browser that I have tried it on (Firefox, Chrome, Edge) and for every device I connected.
Image 1: how it was before, you can see the left and right edges of my playmat
Image 2: you can see how the black bars obstruct the left and right, the playmat edges are not visible
Image 3: I am using my webcam on another app and it works as intended.

my partner and I have been trying for a baby for over two years now, We were going to a fertility clinic for about 5 months before somebody at baby center told us to contact this spell caster who is so powerful, We contacted him at this email; babaka.wolf@gmail.com or Facebook at priest.babaka , for him to help us, then we told him our problem, he told us that we will conceive once we follow his instructions ,but after two years of trying we were at a point where we were willing to try anything. And I'm glad we came to Priest Babaka, Because his pregnancy spell cast and herbal remedy help us, and I honestly believe him, and his gods really helped us as well, I am thankful for all he has done. contact him via email: babaka.wolf@gmail.com or Facebook at priest.babaka if you are trying to have a baby or want your lover back. he has powers to do it, he has done mine

You can fix this by clicking the gear icon on your webcam feed when joining the lobby, then clicking "Aspect Ratio" and setting that to 16:9

Same issue. When I use my phone, a Samsung A24, the video is 1:1 ratio and simply turns to portrait aspect ratio when I force landscape mode. Really cool. I restarted my phone, no change.
Trying my Lumina 4k webcam, once I join the actual game, I see all the opponents' vides for a second before they cut out and go black. The message "There was a problem changing the camera, try closing your camera app" displays. I tried using multiple browsers and starting my own game instead of joining another one. No changes.

Experiencing the same problem (HD Pro C920) on a Macbook Pro - appeared in Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.
Additionally a friend I'm trying to pod with is experiencing the "we're having trouble accessing your device" when trying to use mobile device (iPad 8th gen; iPhone 11) using Safari, both running iOS 17.4. She couldn't even get a camera feed going despite restart/refresh/reset permissions/general software update.

Same issue.
Using Pixel android phone as camera, with Chrome.
Never had any issues before update. Spelltable unplayable at the moment. I've tried multiple browsers, clearing cache, all the experimental aspect settings.
The image is my phone in landscape, set to widescreen in ST settings.

I use my phone as a camera and the back camera is not going into landscape and stuck a 4:3 ratio ( i think).

Further, after trying different aspect rations in the experimental setting, this did something to the camera so that now I only get "We had trouble trying your device" and the camera fails to work in other applications also. This persists across reboots and unplugging the camera. Trying some more got into a state where Spelltable no longer lists the camera inputs at all.
The camera works plugged in to a different computer.

Same issue here. The "experimental" aspect ratio settings seems to get rid of the black bars (sometimes?) but the viewing area still is "zoomed in" compared to previously.

Having the same issue, using Live Streamer Cam 313 USB webcam. Tested on Chrome and Firefox. Worked perfectly for weeks up until tonight, now stuck on 4:3 aspect ratio and very low framerate.

Had this issue last night (all four of us did), in chrome, opera, Firefox and edge.
Some browsers instead of giving me the 4:3 aspect ratio said “we don’t have permission to use your camera” despite having permission in my cpu settings.

I can confirm this issue. Using my phone via the mobile camera option I noticed that a select box was introduced to pick between different camera configurations. That caused the visible playspace to be different than before.
However, ever since February 23rd the portrait mode doesn't change to landscape when changing the orientation of the phone, causing the camera to record a square area severely cutting off playspace by 25% on each side of my playmat.

Broken for myself and another player in my pod as well. Tried reinstalling my camera software, different browsers, nothing seems to help. Camera feed appears normally in other apps.
