Initially when I started playing MTG:arena online I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed it enough to pony up the $20 to get the mastery/season pass. It seemed to me with the extra packs you got with mastery thing it was a good value. I should also mention that this is my first season playing online. I have been playing magic off and on with friends since revised and 4 edition. around the time when The Dark when the newest expansion so 25 years.

The UI and the general flow of the game is much easier to keep up with. There is a judge built in there is never a misunderstanding about how cards are supposed to work and you can't really cheat. Deck building in app is awesome, all my cards in my collections right at my fingertip with a easy to use UI. Altogether it makes a nice system.

My concern with the game really starts with the matchmaking specifically in non-ranked standard play. After I reached about about level 30 in the Mastery path the opponents that I was matched up against became a lot harder than I first started. It is obvious that algorithm used in non-ranked standard is purposely designed slow down progress on the season mastery pass so players have buy more packs from the store instead of getting the packs season mastery. This is a SUPER scummy tactic to increase revenue. I paid money for access to that season path this tactic increase "deck strength" of opponents is bull sh!t. I most certainly will not be spending any more money on MTG:Arena until matchmaking is not manipulated as a means to increase your profits. If people like your product they will spend money on it, you shouldn't need to or be able to stack the deck in the houses favor. If this wasn't happening I would love to drop money on your system. I enjoy playing the game but this is just low and scummy.
