    Valkmira, Protector's Shield doesn't prevent "loss of life" effects, only "damage."

    The text on those 2 cards say the opponent loses life, so it doesn't get blocked.

    I hope this helps you to stop suffering embarrassing losses to Bastion of Remembrance.

    Although it is not made super clear, you can tell the game to stop auto-assigning damage in Settings. This is a must-do against players using Valkmira, Protector's Shield.

    But please, don't let that stop you from uninstalling.
