A bit of advice from a fellow player: Lier's first ability reads "Spells can't be countered". That includes spells your opponents control, It's not a bug; Arena was actually trying to warn you from wasting a counterspell on a spell made uncounterable by your own Lier.
As they say, "reading the card explains the card"...Last standard rotation had Divide by Zero banned exactly for its interaction with Lier. Returning a spell to hand doesn't count as "countering" a spell, and playing against Lier resulted in an unfun play experience where first you would be tempoed out of the game, and then you would be tempoed out of the game again as Lier flashed back Divide by Zero while Hullbreaker Horror bounced all of your permanents, only to get bounced back again by the next Divide By Zero flashback, with the Learn triggers either filling the graveyard or tutoring silver bullet Lessons from the sideboard...

Indestructible won't save Tekuthal here. The -5/-5 from The Mightstone and Weakstone is neither damage nor an effect reading "destroy target creature".
A creature with zero toughness can't survive as a state-based effect, so it dies even with indestructible.
Had the opponent dealt 5 damage to it, then indestructible would have prevented death. But -X/-X circumvents it by aiming at state-based actions.
