Starter Duel Deck games don’t qualify for ANY of the “0/1” achievements, but they do work for “over any number or games” achievements. It’s not explicitly written for some reason but only draft and ranked constructed “matchmade games” qualify.

Only specific types of matchmade games qualify for “0/1” achievements. All the “0/1” Color Achievements specify bot and direct challenge games don’t qualify, while the “over any number of games” achievements don’t specify qualifying game types, despite actually having the same requirements. The only exception is “Heavy-Handed,” which is the only item to specify “matchmade games only.”

Starter Duel Decks event, and unranked constructed don’t work for “0/1” items, only “over any number of games” items. I haven’t tested every format, but I know ranked constructed and sealed or limited draft qualify.

Same thing happened to me. Were you playing ranked, draft, or starter duel?

So, the problem is that only certain “matchmade game” formats qualify for the “0/1” achievements. All “0/1” Color Achievements specify “neither games against sparky not direct challenge qualify,” while the “over any number of games” achievements don’t, despite actually having the same match-type requirement. “Heavy-Handed” is the only achievement that specifies this “matchmade games only” requirement.

All “0/1” achievements can only be completed in constructed or draft, not in starter deck duel (and I think also midweek magic events) - it just isn’t explicitly stated.

I get behind this 100%, the achievement bugs makes the system irritating, not enjoyable. I get its ment to incentivize spending time/money on Arena, but it seems like a lot of people are spending time/in-game-resources to complete these without reward. Why spend time/money on entering events or building constructed decks to earn achievements if there aren’t clear details about the type of qualifying matches/games? Who wants to guess and check?

All instances of this were played on either an 5th gen. iPad Pro or Samsung Galaxy S20 5G, if that’s relevant to fixing the bug. I suspect the real issue is with the single-instance achievements, which all have this issue while the across-multiple-games achievements work fine.

This happened to me as well. I played the Blue/Red deck against the Green/Red deck in the Starter Duel Decks event (@9:42am PST, March 20th). My opponent made no blocks while I attacked with 5 creatures for 25 damage. I was at 1 health when I won, without my opponent conceding (they ended with -24 life). I took a screenshot of the match because I was afraid the “Only One Point Matters” achievement would be bugged like many others are. The game was played on an iPad Pro 5th gen with iPadOS v. 16.3.1.
