After coming back from a break i decided it was finally time to use my wildcard collection that i had stored to create this red/white equip deck:

    2 x Kemba's Outfitter
    4 x Fervent Champion
    4 x shadowspear
    4 x Cloud, Midgar mercenary
    4 x Reyav, Master Smith
    4 x Buster sword
4 x Sword of Body and Mind
4 x Sword of Fire and Ice
4 x Sword of Forge and Frontier
1 x Astor, Bearer of Blades
    1x Danitha, Benalia's Hope
    1x Cloud, Planet's Champion
    4 x Plains
    3x Mountains
    1 x Battlefield Forge
    4 x Cliffftop Retreat
    4 x Needleverge Pathway
    4 x Sacred Foundry

(Not optimal, but what i could make with cards i had and Wildcard)

Over the next several weeks this gave me a lot of data. And it is weird and bad.

It all felt really off compared to when i played it with a copy of the deck in IRL.
IRL i would have a lot more streaks where i got too the 3 lands needed for this to operate smooth (yes the deck is on the light side of lands, but IRL it worked smoothly)

Not only did it feel really of compared to IRL, but i noticed i would be matched up with black/white decks about 85% of the times. The first 10 days it did not bother me to much. it is a fast deck and the matches are over quick unless they exile, sacrifice, destroy/discard my creatures. Should they destroy the wrong targets or tap too much of their mana on their own turn to counter the Fervent Champion i could usually sneak a win here and there due too their mistakes or lack of knowledge.

Now, several weeks and many hundred games into trying this deck compared to others when i do the daily quests i can with little to no doubt say that this is rigged in some way. I have no idea if it is the hidden "value" of my combined deck that puts me right into the bracket where there apparently only consists of 85%+ white/black decks, or if their algorithms have gone haywire in another way. But the outcome still remains the same. This has been gnawing on me for quite some time now, but todays matchmaking made me log in here.

Today i have played for 7 hours straight. And i have only met 1 multi color blue/white/black, and the rest have been Black/White decks. (edit: met another blue/white Exile/counterspell deck while writing this)

In the start i thought maybe there were some correlations with the observations and "The Meta", but by changing away from my newly created deck this could easily be proven wrong. With some observation to the cards in the decks fought with my red/white, it got quite clear that it would meet a lot more rare/mythic card decks than if i played a full uncommon historic deck.

I understand you need to protect new players from getting train wrecked by every player that have already played for some time, but the 35 games in a row smashing my head against a Black/white deck before i get 1 match against a the same with a addition of more colors and back into 35 new games against black/white really kills any enjoyment i had for this deck i spent all my collected wildcards too create. It's not like i could even try to fix this situation except throwing a lot of money on it, as there is no "Sword of Light and Shadow" in MTG Arena.

But why would i do that? The decks don't operate as they would in real life, and i don't get put against random people. I have no way to block or Ignore them and I'm stuck in a loop of perplexed bafflement as i just stack more and more evidence to support this claim.

As a long time player of MTG and a vivid draft tournament player, it is really sad to see how boring this issue has made MTG Arena. I've seen friends quit the past month, and truth be told i don't have any argument for why they should not just uninstall. Withe the power creep the recent years they have lost interest in the physical game as well. If anything, this is just another indicator that i should sell my collection before you guys find yet another way to destroy your reputation.

    Sincerely, a really disappointed fan.
