Sounds similar to what just happened to me in a game I just played during an Avatar Quick Draft event that I spent 5000 coins to enter.

I attempted to use Heartless Act on the opponent's creature (choosing the mode to destroy target creature with no counters on it), and they used Redirect Lightning to aim it at my creature. However, I have Azula Always Lies in hand, with the necessary mana to cast it, and I expected to be able to give my creature a +1/+1 counter with that to stop Heartless Act from destroying my creature. But, the game automatically passed priority and slayed my creature without giving me the chance to try casting Azula Always Lies first.

The opponent then eventually overwhelmed me with their increasing army and caused my 3rd loss of that draft, and this makes me feel like I was robbed a bit by a potential glitch in the system. (My final record for that Quick Draft was 4 wins and 3 losses.)

I'll attach a couple screenshots I took, with one being from just after my creature died to my redirected Heartless Act, and the other being at the end of the match after I've lost.

I just finished a Starter Deck Duel using Vampiric Hunger where I finished with 66 life thanks mainly to Elenda, Saint of Dusk, and my opponent being nice and not conceding early, and... this "Test of Endurance" achievement did not trigger for me.

I had this issue with "The Only Point That Matters" recently too, where the first time I won a duel with 1 life left, it didn't unlock, but it did successfully unlock the second time I won with 1 life later. Why are some achievements being inconsistent with whether they unlock or not for me?

(And, there's no disclaimer on the achievement saying Starter Deck Duels don't count, and I've gotten other achievements and completed daily challenge quests using Starter Deck Duels before.)

Just had this achievement not trigger for me either.

So, I just finished a Starter Deck Duel where I was using the Vampiric Hunger deck, and managed to barely stay alive at 1 life. I had my pumped-up Ajani's Pridemate and Fiendish Panda ready to attack for game, when the opponent conceded. But, the opponent conceding shouldn't matter for this achievement since I still won while my life total showed 1, right?

And yes, the game did count this as a victory for earning a bit of gold and Mastery XP.

EDIT (9-3-2025): I won another game at 1 life remaining tonight. The opponent conceded just before I would've finished them off, but that ended up not mattering, because the achievement triggered this time! Not sure why it didn't unlock the first time.
