    Actually it looks like you just need to put a stopper on your end step. I also wish full control was intuitive enough to let you respond to the trigger going into your end step but I hope this workaround helps.

    Experiencing this same issue with Stifle and Quantum Riddler. Unable to counter the delayed trigger from warped costed creatures even in full control mode. Please correct me if I'm wrong but from what I understand you should be able to respond to this trigger.
