200$?? lol oops. okay i spent more than that just getting started purely for the fun of opening packs before i even learned the mechanics, hadn't played since paper/tabletop MTG like 30 years ago....crazy the game has been around since i was a young teenager and still going.
Okay more importantly, some people will spend tens of thousands, which is actually funny because yes there is blatant cheating. I just rolled out of a game where a 6 black mana spell was cast on turn three, i conceded a couple of turns later and searched the battlefield to see how this was pulled off, i want to steal that strategy...nope, he had 1 black mana available, in standard ranked. even at the end of the game he doesnt have the mana to cast this spell. when it was cast i noticed that the mana cost was 3 black however, not being familiar with the card i didnt look again until it was over.
not the only notice of blatant cheating, when players play a perfect hand and time out, i just concede, not worth the waste of my time to wait and find out what manipulation has been done. there are a few very well known apps that do this. one is literally NAMED Cheat engine.
100% i will not be entering any paid events after my first few attempts, I would say its 5/6 matches i played on events with limited losses that were blatantly cheaters, but i didn't concede because i could only lose 3 times, i just took screens of the nonsense happening, however no report function means....meh, wizards of the coast LIKES cheaters.
Thats cool, i'll keep my thousands of dollars and play for free. its still a fun game
