I think what's happening is that 'you can cast this spell using any color of mana' is being treated differently than generic mana costs, so the spell still costs {RU}, but you can spend mana however you like on it. so the spell won't behave differently when heisted compared to when cast from hand.
I agree that this is confusion, and perhaps wizards should create a new mana symbol to signify 'use any color' if they want it to be treated seperately to generic mana...
I had a similar issue happen when I tried to delve a heisted card: I could only delve the part of the mana cost that was originally generic, rather than the whole cost, as would be intuitive:

this has been happening to me recently and i don't know why. i think i'm going to stop playing mtga for a while until this is resolved, because i lose at least a third of games that i should have won with my main deck and it's pretty frustrating.
