The problem is and has always been the AkSoundEngine.dll file.

I have been experiencing the same issue (black screen and cursor on opening, and then nothing happens) for months now every update.
Until now, I used the trick a user on this forum suggested, after having been unable to play for 2 weeks. It was just to replace the new AkSoundEngine file with the one I downloaded on this other user's link he provided. (I was shocked at the time that I had to download a file from an unkown source, where at the same time Wizards were doing nothing but sending automatic useless messages that basically said "look at this page that solves nothing: try troubleshooting and update C++!")
Only now... this trick doesn't work anymore.

Attached is my log from today (using Wizards setup with their new AkSoundEngine file), I read all the ones from my previous attempts and they all said the same thing (that AkSoundEngine failed to load).

I had an early acces to MTGA, and I bought a $100 graphic card just to play this game. Feels bad that now Wizards doesn't care about me. They don't put up resources to solve this issue because so few of us are still experiencing them. So they just don't care.

PS: The trick from the other user I succefully used was a fix for Windows 7 users. (I am on Windows 7 Pro)
Does that mean that from now on we have to own the latest version of Windows for this program to work?!? That sure won't do it for me!

PS2: And yes, the program was already in English language on my computer, and all my C++ and the like are up to date.
