An error occurred while saving the comment HoldtheMayo#94734 commentedI just played a March of the Machine quick draft where I got paired up against a Mythic ranked player when I am a Gold ranked player. Please explain to me how that is fair? I can understand getting matched with someone who is the lowest tier of the next rank above you but definitely not three ranks above you. I didn't stand a chance to win against them because they are so much more skilled than I am evidenced by their ranking. What is the point of having a ranking system if I am not going to be paired with other players in my rank?

I don't believe I am incorrectly assuming that there is a large portion of the MTG Arena player base that primarily plays limited (draft) and only plays constructed to get enough funds to play more limited. As one of those players, I would think a really budget version of limited (1000-2000 gold range) that is regularly accessible would be very popular. Something like a phantom draft of the most recent set where you don't get to keep the cards you draft but has rewards based on number of wins that is similar to quick draft. I would personally be all about that and think others would be as well.
