I have been playing Magic for a long time, and enjoy playing formats that allow the use of older cards, such as Legacy. Therefore, Historic is my favorite way to play Magic Arena, because it is the closest thing to playing an eternal format of paper Magic in a convenient and polished digital form.

However, I will no longer play it, due to the inclusion of the changes brought about by Alchemy in Historic. The Historic format now includes many non-paper cards with designs that work only in a digital format. Additionally, Historic also includes digital versions of existing cards that have been changed from their paper counterparts. There is no good reason for implementing such changes on a fun and healthy format like Historic.

Since I will stop playing Historic, it means that I will stop playing Magic Arena entirely. I do not want to play Standard, nor do I want to play Alchemy. The only way that I will play Magic Arena again is if Alchemy stops affecting Historic, or if a paper format using older cards is introduced, such as Pioneer. I am sure the Magic Arena team will still find success with Alchemy, despite the recent decisions that end up alienating many members of the older player base, such as myself. We are the ones who have jobs and disposable income, but I suppose that doesn't matter.
