As someone who casually plays eternal formats in paper, I find Alchemy to be incredibly confusing and needlessly complicates the game. Am I supposed to keep gatherer open on my phone and reference it mid-match while playing paper magic so that I can look up the paper version of a card so as not to misremember what the paper version of a card does relative to an ever-changing Alchemy version of the card? I'd have no objection to Alchemy being introduced if it were added as a separate format to Historic so that I could opt-in to the format and not lose the only format on MTGA that I regularly play and ejoy.
