It's two years after this post was made and it's clear that WotC is still rigging games even in best-of-3 with the shuffler.

I don't think Wizards of the Coast care about how badly it's been screwing up the game. I guess the solution would be to stop spending money on anything they make until they either realize they screwed up or go out of business.

The combo problem can be fixed by Wizards of the Coast doing their job and banning the cards that enable the combos and change the rules so that it is impossible for someone to sit there playing solitaire.

Finite combos also need to be banned such as those found in the current Dimir Bounce deck. They are all too powerful and often just lead to one player playing solitaire while you sit back waiting for your turn. Really bad game design. Just as bad as printing cards that enable red to consistently win in 3-5 turns.

The solution is to add a rule stating that a triggered or activated ability from creatures with the same name can only be activated or triggered once per turn.

Unranked best-of-one uses a rigged shuffler. Best-of-three seems to be a little closer to true random.

This is a basic feature in online games. I'm not sure why Wizards of the Coast hasn't implemented a report feature to help combat these players.
Even worse is when they're losing or they don't like how the game's going, they just go afk to waste your time.

It's best to just quit the game. WotC is not interested in making a good game. They've haven't been for a long time. If they were ever interested in MTG being a good game, they would've never even printed those cards in the first place.
