I personally believe that the matching and shuffling algorithms used in this game are fair and have never complained about the progress of the game.
However, wotc needs to provide the means and opportunity for verification for the very few skeptics.
Specifically, some of the code used in the in-game process, especially that involving matching, dice rolls, and shuffling, needs to be published in a public space such as github, and its seed value and salt needs to be stored in a carbon copy fashion in at least three places (player, opponent, and wotc's managed servers).
There will be room for cracking in the system proposed here, but at least it will ensure fairness in a clearer way than we have now, and I believe that eventually it will be in wotc's best interest.
