Inquiry about OMP and OGP Calculation in the Swiss Tournament
During my usage of the tool, I happened to notice a peculiar behavior in the
calculation of two specific values: OMW (Opponents Match Win percentage) and
OGW (Opponents Game Win percentage). Upon further examination, it appears
that the tool takes into account bye matches when calculating these
However, I came across an official document from Wizard of the Coast, which
can be accessed here:
According to this document, it clearly states that bye matches should be
skipped when computing OMW and OGW.
When a player is assigned a bye for a round, they are considered to have won the match 2–0.
Thus, that player earns 3 match points and 6 game points. A player’s byes are ignored when computing their
opponents’ match-win and opponents’ game-win percentages."
Now, I am uncertain whether I might have missed something while using the
tool, or if this discrepancy is potentially a bug in its current
implementation. I wanted to reach out to you to seek clarification on this
Could you kindly shed some light on the situation? It would be immensely
helpful to understand whether I need to adjust my approach or if there is a
possible issue with the tool.
Thank you for your time and consideration in addressing this query. Your tool
has been a tremendous asset to our tournament management, and I look forward
to hearing back from you soon.
Sincerely, Enrico Pilotto.
