    I think I found out.

    If you start Arena then:

    - play a ranked game
    - then play an unranked game

    The unranked games you play from this moment forward will cause you to lose rank.

    If you restart Arena and play an unraked game from the beginning, there is no problem.

    Same thing here. Losing rank while playing unranked matches.
