Okay I fixed it if anyone has this problem here is the solution
uninstall the game and before re-install clear both the cache and data for both Google play services and google play games, then you should be able to download the game and it should be fixed 😉 -

If you uninstall and reinstall game to follow advice of trouble shooting the game breaks and a blank button overlay occurs which won't go away and you can't go any further and pressing the button only causes the planeswalker to move closer but the overlay remains.

As this does not fix the problem all we are told is it looks like a bug has already been submitted I've put your vote on it, which is not even the bug we're experiencing (at least in my case it wasn't)
Please help us I really like this game and would like to be able to play maybe even buy from the store once all the bugs are out

Can't load game past this point, I've uninstalle/reinstalledccleared cache on game and google play even factory reset phone and reinstalled game still stuck here

I've had this as well. Happened after I also followed the troubleshooting advice. I've reinstalled multiple times and cleared all data but the problem persists.

Pixel 4 / Android 10
Followed the troubleshooting steps due to game constantly crashing during battle - one step suggests to uninstall / reinstall.
On doing this, an overlay appears with two buttons and no text. Clicking the left button seems to download something but after there is a constant overlay they i can't get rid of. I have tried:
- force close, reopen app
- restart
- another uninstall / reinstallGame is now unplayable
