    Had the same problem, also with a Vorinclex.
    But my opponent also had had an old-growth troll .

    And I don't understand how vorinclex ability for reducing the number of counters in half would work here.

    Elspeth says "Exile target permanent an opponent controls with mana value 3 or greater" ... it never mentions any counters....
