I agree whole heartedly. As a Magic player since 4th edition, I truly understand that the game has to evolve. Evolution is good considering new technology, game play ( I hated ante, but loved mana burn), etc. So when Alchemy came out, I saw this as an online evolution due to the mechanics that can be introduced which would be very difficult in paper. However, I always saw Historic as an option similar to Modern, Pioneer, etc. The two should not meld into one. If Historic is going to be akin to Alch3,y, then we need an eternal format that mimics paper.

Go to decks, collection and then advanced filters.

Click the set you want to see and then click uncollected. those are the ones you dont have yet.

If you click collected and uncollected, any collected card that does not have the 4 diamonds lit up above it is not collected in full. the number of lit diamonds is the number you have. Any card that is shaded is not collected.

Although I agree that it is annoying to play against the same decks over and over, if you look at the history of MTG and paper tournaments, the deck lists of people are sometimes very similar. Just go to MTGGoldfish and you can see how decks are making up the metagame. In the past(during Kaladesh 2016), energy decks made up a part of the metagame with the deck being very similar with only small differences between decks.

The ranking piece of MTGA is very competitive and people are trying to get to the top tiers in Mythic Rank for rewards and also for any other advanced tournaments that may come along. Unfortunately, as MTG has become more competitive, people are going to play the best deck in the meta.
