To Report a Bug or Provide Feedback

Before reporting a bug, check to see if it has already been reported. In the Issue Title below search for specific key terms from your issue.




Example: Shivan Dragon (Note: Partial words won’t show up, so use “Shivan” instead of “Shiv.”)

If your issue has been reported already, simply click the vote button to show us you’ve experienced that issue as well. If you feel you have additional information that could be helpful to us in tracking down the issue please feel free to add it.

If your bug has not been reported, please do so now! Update the Issue Title to reflect the problem you’ve encountered.

Example: Shivan Dragon doesn’t work

Choose the Category that describes your problem.

Describing the problem in the following fashion helps make clear what happened and allows us to investigate the issue faster.

  1. Summarize the problem
  2. List the steps you took that led to the problem
  3. What was the result that happened when you followed those steps
  4. What was the result you expected to happen when you followed those steps

Example: The life tracker didn’t track my life.

  1. Open the life tracker and start a game
  2. Try to remove or add life to my life total
  3. Actual: my life total didn’t change
  4. Expected: my life total goes up or down

You can provide additional information that can also help us conclude an investigation quickly. Great information to include:

1.  What type of device you’re using
2. What version of your operating system you’re using
3. A screenshot of the issue (Note: it must be smaller than 50 mb in size)
4. Whether re-starting the application and attempting the steps again solved the problem

  1. Coin flip

    Coin flipper needs to show heads tails before the flip or show heads tails clearer. Also should be able to skip animation by clicking again to jump to result.

  2. set symbol insted of 3 letter codes

    the three letter code of this card is harder for players to know then the set symbols

  4. Receive an Error When Trying to Set Name

    Recently updated my wizards account to include my first and last name. Was not able to log into companion to join events at my local store and really want to be cool and not run to the judge table to find assignments for rounds. When I enter my name into companion it says sorry.

  6. Advanced Search: Include all formats.

    Advanced Search: Please, include all formats (paper and digital) in order to find, for example, cards that are exclusive in the historic. So we can build our decks away from PC when needed. Thanks.

  7. Apostrophe in search

    If you search for angel’s you don’t get angel’s trumpet. My guess is it’s handling i single quotes wrong.

  8. Round 1 Bye 2-0 win but lost

    The Companion application in regards to event functions states round 1 bye with the screen describing a bye as a 2-0 win while waiting for round 2 of an event, but i signed up late with the store organizer stating I am entered with a round 1 loss.

    Platform: ios

    Process:

    • I entered tournament event code after start

    -app Home screen event is listed

    -Press event under my events

    -Round 1 screen states I have a bye as a 2-0 win.

    *-Side note the back left arrow on top left of screen when pressed will take you to “Join Event”…

    This was a bug related to the EventLink software that has since been fixed.

  9. Expansion

    So in the gatherer feature there is the expansion option. The only problem is that it needs the 3 character expansion code. Come on. Nobody knows that. If I want a Guilds of Ravnica card, I should be able to put that. It is a huge inconvenience knowing what set but not the three character code.
    Other than that, been loving the gatherer feature.

    Information displays as follows:

    -For in-person events, a player’s first and last name displays. Online information does NOT display.

    -For online events, a player’s digital ID, or “Username” displays. First and Last name does NOT display.

  11. I have events created that can’t be completed or deleted. Deleting and reinstalling app doesn’t help.

    Can’t finish or delete local events in my app. It just hangs on reporting results.

    These events automatically report and will close themselves after 28 days.

  12. Error 412

    Every event for the past two weeks get this error . I’m unable to see matchup or seating . After the error the app freezes and I have to crash it .

  14. Host can't add people to pre-release after event starts

    I think players should be able to join an existing event, namely pre-release, after the the event has started, especially if players are only in the deck building phase

    Late registration is indeed available! WPN stores and staff should use the EventLink website to late register players in their events.

    Late registration is currently enabled in Sealed Deck and Constructed events.

  16. Life-Long Player Paper Concerns

    As I said I have been playing Magic: The Gathering for 11 of my 27 yeats of life and I have no intention, plans, or inclination to quit playing high end, competative Modern MtG in paper, Ever. The digital experience is awesome but The Gathering has always been more real than Magic.

    I want to see a return to Player Rewards in the form of currency that is earned by attending sanctioned events. These points could be treated a number of ways but what makes sense to me is centering the point structure around FNM, the most common, casual, new-player…

  17. What to do if internet connection is lost

    In the event that we lose connection to the server because of connection issues or a possible server downtime, should there be a way to cache the entered data and run with it and then upload when connection is restored? Just thinking there could be some possible headaches if this happens.

    If you’re participating an event and you lose internet access for some reason, the store staff running the event can still provide you your pairing, standing, and match reporting information through all the traditional forms. Simply reach out to staff for help!

    Why do full names show up on I phone but not Android... This is for pairings....

    The issue causing player names to appear in truncated form in the Magic Companion app for Android users during matches has now been fixed. Thanks for helping to bring this to our attention! Update to the latest version of the app to see the fix.

  19. Round timer

    Add the round timer to the players playing the round that is tied to the hosting round time in order for the players to know what the time frame of the round in without having to ask the event organizers

  20. Only last name shown.

    In companion the pairings show only your opponent's last name. This makes it difficult to find them in local events where table numbers are not used. Please give the option to show first names.

    This feedback was very difficult to give because the Feedback button on the mobile app directs you a page that 1) does not give you the option to sign in, and 2) requires you to be signed in to post. If you want quality feedback, fix this as well.
