exactly the same here, even after over 1 hour and a reboot I can't get to the home screen and am stuck with "waiting for server"
commenting for more attention and hopefully a quicker bugfix.

I finally solved it myself.
So, apparently "deinstalling" MtGA via the Epic Game launcher still leaves tons of data in your Library folder, which will not get re-downloaded when you then re-install the game.
Deleting that folder in my Library folder made MtGA finally re-download all 10GB of assets/data and now it finally works again.
You might need to re-work how updates and/or checking the integrity of already installed files work. Or implement a "hard reinstall" button somewhere that completely wipes all MtGA data before reinstalling.

meanwhile, I even updated to the latest MacOS (Sequoia 15.3.1 ) hoping that this might fix the issue.
nope, still crashes during the loading screen
makes me sad because I spent money for the draft and sealed tokens and now I can't play it on the big monitor.
the aetherdrift update works fine on my iphone, but i don't wanna draft or play sealed on that tiny screen :(

Since I've switched to Apple Silicon and to a newer OS a month or 2 ago, I've had the same Issue. Worked fine on Intel with the older OS

Ever since I switched to a newer Mac with the latest OS (Sonoma), I too can't make any real money purchases anymore.
Must be either specific to OS version or processor (Apple Silicon vs Intel) because it worked fine before for me.

not a bug or exploit. this is one example of what people call an "infinite combo". such things have always existed in MtG and will always exist.
