    This is still unacceptable and wrong-headed game design.

    1) The alert formatting should be consistent across cards since the core operation (rotation) has the same effect regardless of the card.

    2) If they want to alert on this, the alert should enumerate the format(s) where the rotation is taking place.

    WJW, yeah. Both of those sets aren't due to rotate until 2027.

    I just confirmed this on macOS 14.3 (23D56). See the attached screenshot. The incorrect warning dialogs even look different too.

    After hearing about and confirming the 8+ sideboard construction fix, I had a modicum of confidence WotC was on the right track.

    If they can't even get date expirations correct and consistent to the same interface, that confidence was sorely misplaced.

    Yep. This has been a known issue for a very long time (years?). I got this again today in a Bo3.

    Atm, WotC doesn't have the corporate ability to produce reliable software.

    I believe they've triaged fixing all non-absolutely-game-breaking bugs into oblivion.

    They don't even temp-ban known bugged cards. They're just allowed remain active and *****-up gameplay.

    I agree. You even get this screen after a mid-game crash not related to any player leaving the game.

    A few revs back, Ral https://scryfall.com/card/blb/230/ral-crackling-wit would just randomly crash the Mac client when activating an ability.

    It was a horrible game design choice to not share active client connectivity on such a grossly course polling interval. Clearly, it was done to increase throughput for a given load allowing more game sessions to be hosted concurrently, but at the cost of this sort of horrid UX.

    I completely agree. Given all the possible interaction mechanics, WotC is making its, ostensibly, primary job of making a fun and interactive game insanely hard. And I'm only talking about Standard, let alone the other formats with larger cardbases and even more interaction possibilities.

    Despite obvious mega-aggro & mega-ramp issues related to the recent unusually high number of bans, my sympathies go out to design team for trying to do the impossible. There are currently no less than 16 sets in Standard! After the Fall rotation, there will still be 12! That's just insane!

    Given its value-squeezing directives from parent company Hasbro, WotC's primary motivation atm seems to be licensing 3rd party IP to enable mass card production for, in theory, increased revenue from the same capital base.

    It's certainly not about publishing stable Arena software, balancing Standard, or any other format.

    Historically, at least *one* format was considered in "reasonably good shape". Atm, none of them are.

    Amen. The deck management interface needs a rework to allow for multi-selection/grouping actions.

    That said, I'll take stable networking with cards that actually do what they say.

    Atm, WotC can't deliver a stable software product with proper bug tracking/remediation and this is almost entirely a leadership/policy issue.

    Not a bug RAW, but additional evidence that exponential effects shouldn't be in the game. It's lazy game design.

    This is a known bug with Arena. There are a few infinite no-interaction combos with Bloodthirsty Conqueror that should result in a match Draw, but actually result in a Loss and a few unscrupulous players are taking advantage of it.

    The minute that card goes down just concede.

    In concur. I still find it hilarious that they push (with default settings) an ill-designed un-balanced format, go through the contortions of hosting Brawl, yet refuse to enable something as brain-dead simple as Pauper.

    Pioneer seems utterly forgotten too.

    For me, Standard is the only online format worth considering atm. Draft is cool too, but it's just not my thing.

    I don't think Chocobos, in general, are OP though cards like Tifa Lockart https://scryfall.com/card/fin/206/tifa-lockhart are OP with a current meta that allows so many landfall trigger multipliers like https://scryfall.com/card/fin/210/traveling-chocobo and Ride The Shoopuf https://scryfall.com/card/fin/197/ride-the-shoopuf .

    To fight chocobos, you need to include low-mana flicker like Into the Flood Maw https://scryfall.com/card/blb/52/into-the-flood-maw and cheap removal like Burst Lightning https://scryfall.com/card/fdn/192/burst-lightning, Bitter Triumph https://scryfall.com/card/tdc/173/bitter-triumph, Get Lost https://scryfall.com/card/lci/14/get-lost, or Tithing Blade https://scryfall.com/card/lci/128/tithing-blade-consuming-sepulcher .

    Alternatively, since chocobos can't (natively) Trample, you can also semi-counter by flooding with token blockers.

    Log the name. Don't play with that person again.

    Granted the 'display name' is a handle (not a unique ID) so you can't be absolutely certain, but better to save play-time for...'ya know, actually playing the game.
