Yep. This is definitely correct RAW behavior. The rule just shouldn't have been written that way as it makes zero gameplay or narrative sense.

Honestly, I think Pioneer is the format that WotC forgot. WotC doesn't seem to know what to do with it.
Alchemy has been broken from the beginning and I have no hope it will ever be balanced...let alone fun.

Yep. Sadly, this is now proven behavior with the latest patch.

I'm seeing this too with the latest 2025.49.50 patch.
The fact this fundamental deck building bug somehow made it past QA is appalling.
How can you *not* have a sideboard-building test as part of first-pass QA?!
Screenshots and Log files are attached.

I don't agree with a separate matchmaking. I'll go further and suggest these sorts of cards don't belong in magic.
I simply don't play against grossly large (off-min-format sized) decks. Mathematically, it's apples vs oranges.

I'm fine with small creatures having Trample though it does go against the thematic narrative of the mechanic.
What's not cool is having creatures with exponential (doubling/halving) effects. Any percentage or exponential power increases/decreases are rife for abuse in the game and represent lazy game design.
Tifa Lockhart https://scryfall.com/card/fin/206/tifa-lockhart should've never been printed.

Did you have the 2nd casting countered? The 2nd casting must resolve in order for the win condition to take place. See the rulings https://gatherer.wizards.com/AKH/en-us/4/approach-of-the-second-sun I agree that the legacy wording is inaccurate on the card itself since it doesn't mention the 2nd one must resolve--only cast from hand.
Amen. I've be lobbying for a set of player moderation tools for years. Atm, I simply keep a list of known "bad actors" and refuse to play with them. It used to be 12. Sadly, it's now ballooned to 92 in just the past 6 months. Without moderation, this is what happens to a player-base.
