    Being "coddled by balance" is patently false when the vast majority of games in Standard (atm) are decided by turn 4. It's now not only possible, but probable (with Leyline of Resonance), to have a zero-interaction turn 2 kill in a BO1. That's zero-decision making by all sides and route memorization with zero impact by any other board state or the opponent. Does that sound like a fun card game?

    In green-green mirrors (atm) whomever happens to draw "more ramp" auto-wins as (atm) there's no counter to basic land ramp and green is (currently) over-stacked with ramp. Does that sound like a fun card game?

    The rare games that "go long" (say a Dragon-Dragon mirror) often devolve in mutual top-decking. Again with zero decision-making and near-perfect information. Does that sound like a fun card game?

    The PIxie-Hand-Hate deck can, with very high probability, lock down any other deck (aside from a straight or pseudo mirror) such that there's only ever a "hand of 1 card" during turn. Does that sound like a fun card game?

    Please do a modicum of research on prior magic cards and metas before complaining about "the complaining on Cori-Steel Cutter". That particular card's abilities, especially for its cost {1}1R and type (artifact equipment) are an unprecedented power-creep. It's OP in *any* meta and should've been banned months ago.

    I have zero confidence WotC will do anything in this regard. In my experience with over 5k hours on Arena, there's been ZERO moderation.

    In the early days and for a few months starting again in early 2025 I filed player Conduct reports with accompanying evidence (logs, screenshots).

    I still see those same players on Arena today--zero consequences.

    My only "solution" has been to simply NOT play (insta-concede) with players who repeatedly engage in unsportsmanlike conduct. It doesn't help my record, but I place the most value on FUN when playing a game--shocking.

    Not to mention, an infinite loop with no interaction to continue or halt should result in a Draw per the official rule 104.4b https://media.wizards.com/2025/downloads/MagicCompRules%2020250606.txt .

    The client should indicate which is enchanted by which in a more intuitive fashion.

    Offhand, the "virtual stack" should be an analog to a real one so the order displayed should go left-to-right oldest to recent, but I've never run into that situation so I don't know how it's implemented atm.

    I disagree with the Manifold Mouse and Monstrous Rage bans. Both are OP in the current meta, but otherwise I don't have issues.

    I'm on the fence with Slickshot Show-Off. It's bad, but I could go either way. It's definitely OP in the current meta and having *any* flyer with haste at 1R is pushing things unless it's somehow otherwise hobbled like Phoenix Chick.

    I completely agree with a Cori-Steel Cutter ban. I've written about Cori-Steel Cutter before https://feedback.wizards.com/forums/918667-mtg-arena-bugs-product-suggestions/suggestions/49967397-cori-steel-cutter-deserves-a-ban-or-mod, but it's power wrt its prowess token spawning ability is unprecedented in Magic. This card is OP in *any* meta and should've been banned months ago.

    FWW, I also feel Leyline of Resonance should be banned in *all* matches--not just Bo1s.

    This is, basically, how I play atm with respect to a few cards in Standard (e.g. Leyline of Resonance and Cori-Steel Cutter) and a few decks (Slickshot Otters and Pixie Hand-Hate). Those cards should be banned and those decks offer no interaction are unfun to play with/against.

    I'd offer an even simpler proposal: Allow any player to "concede a BO3 match" at any point after game 1 has concluded. It saves everyone time and doesn't impact those who care about win/loss ratios.

    Waystone *is* OP and should be banned.

    I would encourage playing cards in the formats that aren't strictly digital as they go through a more rigorous play-test procedure and are simply in-play more often so more effective feedback reaches WotC.

    That said, even Standard sucks now so...maybe just wait until the Fall rotation?

    Yep. This has been a known issue for some time on Arena and WotC doesn't seem to care.

    FWIW, Bloodthirsty Conqueror is on my 'personal Arena ban list'. I refuse to play with or against this card online.

    Per rule 104.4b https://media.wizards.com/2025/downloads/MagicCompRules%2020250606.txt this should result in a Draw

    I concur with the current hyper-aggro "otters-slickshot" meta being "decided by turn 4", essentially zero player moderation, and no sense of community online. Turn 4 is also when green ramp and powerful b/w reanimation kick in too so...yeah.

    FWIW, there's a wonderful offline community and "fairness" has never been much of "a thing" in Magic. In many respects, Magic is the original "pay to win" game at least wrt individual card rarity and power--though deck synergy is an entirely different matter.

    Along those lines, there's _zero_ excuse NOT to have formats like Pauper on Arena.

    WotC _can_ fix ALL of this if they:

    1) Refrain from adding additional aggro cards in the Fall rotation.

    2) Beef up green mid-game incentives that don't involve ramp. Atm, the green-deck ramp-mirror is effectively an "aggro" game as there's no scalable counter to ramp aside from mutual destruction with cards like Urza's Sylex. Whomever happens to draw "better ramp" by turn 4 wins. It's hilarious to see very valid game concessions in a green-green mirror with a zero creature board state. It's akin to the old Whisperwood Elemental + Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx days of zero interaction and ultra-life-gain. Neither meta is fun for anyone.

    3) Overall, reduce the power-creep.

    4) Actually have employees play and post on this forum akin to Blizzard. Has anyone ever seen an "mythic orange colored" WotC employee playing?! I have over 5k hours on Arena and have never seen a single one.

    5) Enforce player conduct moderation or, alternatively, provide tools so the players can self-moderate. I used to think, at most, maybe 10 'personal player ban' slots would be sufficient, but given the increased toxic behavior over just the past few months, I think that would have to be increased to 20. I've long-stopped reporting player conduct as it's had _zero_ impact.

    From a purely game-play-quality experience (not related to Unity or individual card bugs), Standard on Arena is in the worst state it's ever been.

    The really sad thing is this can _all_ be remediated if WotC would dedicate some resources these issues. This is all do-able and fixable by Fall. Instead, they seem ****-bent on new "card styles" and incorporating 3rd party thematic IP in lieu of crunching the combinatorics and getting back to dynamic and diverse game-play.

    I will add one amendment and clarification.

    There are some cards such as Ugin, Eye of the Storms https://scryfall.com/card/tdm/1/ugin-eye-of-the-storms which have "when you cast this spell" clauses whose abilities themselves are placed on the stack even IF the card itself never resolves. See rule 601.2i. The card can be countered, but not necessary its abilities.

    The (now legacy) wording is awkward in AotSS, but the 2nd one MUST Resolve in order for the effects of merely having Casted the first one to work.

    Casted is a different state than Resolved. One can't counter "casting". One can counter "resolving". Counterspells only effect the stack--hence why one can counterspell a counterspell.

    Any triggered abilities that are under a "when you cast this spell" clause still occur irregardless of whether or not the rest of the card resolves. The only way to stop that ability from taking effect (if it's a stack-based ability) is to use a stack-deletion instant like Hurkyl's Final Meditation or Time Stop.

    Well, "toxic" isn't going away, but I do hope that WotC realizes that, generally speaking, having "alternative win conditions" in any game is not conducive to fun and tones it down in the Fall.

    My insider "secrets" to having fun in this (atm) unfun Standard meta and largely un-moderated player-base:

    1) Stop caring about your overall win/loss record. In the majority of matches, there's very little thought or decision-making required, board states are generally trivial, and most games are effectively decided by turn 4.

    2) Concede to players who rope, play cards that would otherwise be banned (*cough, cough* Cori-Steel Cutter and Leyline of Resonance) in a "normal" meta, or play decks that don't allow for any interaction.

    3) Relish those rare (maybe 1 out of 9) matches that show you Magic's potential and where the game "can go again" with the right design leadership.

    IMO, the suck began with Thunder Junction (worst release in memory), reached a nadir with Duskmourn, and we're just now starting to come out of it with Tarkir: Dragonstorm.

    I feel the new rules regarding Standard just make it have too many cards for reasonable design balance goals. WotC should walk those back.

    I'm hopeful for the future, but not for the near-term.

    I can now confirm this bug on Mac. I was just able to make a Negate un-counterable after it was on the stack. Unfortunately, I immediately played a game afterward and forgot to capture the log.

    I'll keep this in my deck and will try and remember to log capture next time.

    In general, WotC should:

    1) Ban any confirmed bugged cards (like Bitter Triumph a few revs back)
    2) Announce the temporary bugged ban
    3) Announce when it's fixed and unbanned

    Atm, they appear to be doing none of this.

    Reading the card should explain the card. It if doesn't, the card shouldn't be allowed in *any* deck.

    I'll make a deck including Mistrise and try that today since I'm also on Mac and have seen this complaint before. WotC really should start posting on their own forum. I get the sense anymore that there's only like 5 of us on the planet that routinely post/reply here.

    As a hilarious side-note, there's a log-line near the end of the first file which states "Card "CDC #0" entered the command zone with no ETC VFX. That's pretty lame, add some."

    I don't agree with the card ban comparisons, but I do feel in a meta with so much graveyard sneak-play Omniscience is OP. Similarly, Deep Cavern Bat is a solid card, but it would not get nearly as much play if the meta wasn't already too heavily skewed with hand-hate.

    Honestly, the meta is so unfun atm (mostly due to lack of interaction and effective turn-3 wins), I've just stopped playing against a few cards and a few decks.

    It's just not worth my precious game-play-time to have unfun non-interaction for the entire length of a Bo3 match.

    I just concluded a Bo3 against a non-optimal hand-hate deck. Given so much 1-for-1-ing, hand visibility, and removal, we were both top-decking each game after turn 5 with near-perfect information.

    There was, effectively, zero decision-making and zero board-state for the vast majority of each game.

    Does that sound like fun to anyone?!
