An error occurred while saving the comment Orb#39384 commentedUpdate: the new version (2024.40.0) does not fix this issue.
An error occurred while saving the comment Orb#39384 commentedBTW I have of course removed and reinstalled both Epic Launcher and Arena. No effect.
Thanks in advance, Wizards, for your help with this!
Orb#39384 supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Orb#39384 commentedI have this problem too. I get as far as "loading initial scene" and then the app just quits. No amount of retries will change it. This happened from the Bloomburrow update onwards, it was fine before that.
System: Macbook Pro m1 16", Sonoma 14.5. I updated to 14.6 and the problem persists. (Notably Arena still works perfectly on my old 2012 MBP 13" on OSX 10.15.)
Predicted behaviour: When opening the app from Epic Launcher, it opens and shows me the usual homepage.
Actual behaviour: The app begins the process of opening, I see the Bloomburrow backdrop, and it runs through all the usual text statuses, but when it gets to "loading initial scene" the app just quits completely.
Steps to reproduce: Open the app on a Mac. :) Literally 100% failure rate.
Workaround: None.

2021 Macbook M1 Pro, Sonoma 14.5.
Arena opened as normal, then downloaded and installed the Bloomburrow update, also as normal, and then it just quit. Now it won't open. It gets as far as "loading initial scene" and then just crashes, quits, vanishes. No black screen for me but I'm assuming it's the same issue.
Looks like Mac owners can't use Arena at all until this is fixed...?Orb#39384 supported this idea · -

An error occurred while saving the comment Orb#39384 commentedThis is happening every time my daughter and I try to play friendly Brawl, which is pretty much the only thing we do in Arena and it normally brings us a lot of joy. It's literally impossible for us to play a friendly game at the moment. I can't isolate a specific cause - it doesn't seem to depend on what deck we choose, sleeve, companion, avatar, even platform (she's on Windows, I'm on Mac). Each time we try to start a match, no matter what, one or other of us will get the message "Network error - failed to submit deck - please try again later". This is an honest-to-god bug, a big one, it must be affecting thousands of players, and if you could prioritise fixing it we'd be very grateful. Thanks!

I'm pleased to say that version 2024.40.30.1953.1090994 has fixed this issue for me. I can now open the game and play normally. Thanks, support team!
