This has been a trend now, it's been happening in random games for a month. This never happened with my other games, where in I'll have an internet connection or issue. Fix this please!

Was in the middle of a draft game. Opponent looks to have gone afk, was timing out but before finishing got a message waiting for server. This hung for a bit then I closed and reopened client, reconnected to the game but client froze on entering match. Restarted client again and made it into match but a few turns passed and stil had the waiting for server message. Connection remained okay through the whole issue

The "waiting for server" message is just draining out my patience and will to play the game. It displays everytime i change menu on the arena client. Accessing the store takes up to 5 seconds with that message popping on the screen. I recall couple days coming home late and not being able to complete dailies cause game didn't load past that message. Next day was running properly whitout any futher action. I still remember when arena client and fast and efficient and not running on potato servers. If wizards and hasbro are not willing to reinvest profits ir order to improve products people will spend money elsewhere.

During the game 'waiting for server' suddenly appeared, and there was no response but to wait. However, the game was still running normally, forcing a push to log in but unable to log in, displaying an error code of '-1'. This problem has been bothering me for a while, please let me know how to solve it!

This ******* game have a trash server. I can't play because the server doesn't work, loading a "waiting for server" screen when my connection is stable. So much money raised from players and you don't have a decent server !

I have lost countless games when just about to win because of this. If I pull up task manager and shut down arena quick enough, then relaunch, sometimes it’ll put me back in the same game with my timer running down. Once I had it put me into a new game while I could still hear the other one going on.

Is there any update on this? I’m having the same issue. Reinstalled. It’s an app issue.

Keeps saying waiting for server. I think you need to fix your server.

Happened today in two consecutive ranked matches. Wasn't able to finish the match, kept missing my turn due to minutes long lag periods. Incredibly frustrating.

My friend and i are trying to play against each other. we live together. We are running into a "waiting for server"- "connection lost" error when we try to play a match between us.
We have been able to play before but it seldom actually goes through and allows us to play.
Both of us are on PC, microsoft. -

This happened to me as well, and I suspect it could be due to the game's networking code not playing nice with my AMD processor. The AMD processor's instruction set is a bit different than most processors on the market, so I often see networking issues for certain games (no latency, just hangups like this bug when trying to establish connections for some multiplayer games).
Restarting the game and rejoining seems to work, but am I going to have to do this everytime I want to play a draft game? Is there seriously no retry logic to account for this?
Very disappointing to grind a couple of hours to build up the gold to play a draft, just to have the game sit on this waiting screen and give me a garbage deck that I can't play with after I rejoin. Not a good feeling to have my time utterly wasted like this. I conceded after playing against my first opponent because there was no salvaging it, and I was not interested in an exercise in futility.
My friend group is starting to get into this game, and as an older MTG player, I was excited to enter during The Brothers War set, which I read some of the books for way back in the day.
I really want to like this game and enjoy it, but I don't think that I'll have a fun experience until I get a new computer. Problem is, I won't need a new computer for some years to come. My AMD processor does fine for everything else, so this game will sadly not be in the rotation of games I play for quite some time.
Please work on better networking retry logic. Closing the game and reopening seems to reconnect me quickly, but I'm not doing that everytime I want to play, so I'm just not going to play. Surely this reconnection logic can be accomplished without quitting the game entirely.

I started a quick Draft (New Capenna) and the match has been interrupted 4 times by "waiting for the server".
I had to restart the game twice to avoid loosing a turn but I couldn't play my creature on turn 2 and lost the game.
please refund.
problem is still going on and I don't want to play until is fixed. -

Used my draft token after a long time staying away from draft. I was excited to draft again.
Same "waiting for server" experience as everyone else. Token wasted.

Yup. Just tried to draft in MTG30 mixed up draft. Waiting for server spun for 10 minutes. I force closed and reloaded to find myself at pack 3 pick 5. Thanks for the waste of actual real money. What an F*ing joke. I'm sure I'll see nothing in response from WoTC, per usual when their system takes a dump. I might keep playing Arena for free, but I'll never spend another dime of actual money in the virtual game. Not an idle threat. I'm a cheap person by nature and this has solidified my lack of faith in your virtual system. So upsetting. You have my email. Why not try and actually reach out to your customers?
