Error Updating Data
The game is stuck on startup.
It says : "Error Updating Data - Please check your connection and try again".
Obviously my connection work just fine. I think this is a bug.

Other accounts do work, So It seems there's a problem with my account. -

I have had this error for about a week straight (as of March 24 2022) on my Windows desktop. No issue connecting via Android phone using the same wifi connection, so definitely not my internet connection.
Note: the arena server page is not reporting any outages, which would have explained this error -

PC user here and I have tried all the troubleshooting solutions available online with the same "Error Updating Data - Please check your connection and try again" notification every time the game is launched.
Also tried playing via Epic Game platform; same result.

Same here, I can log in with my friends account, but I can't get into the main menu with my own account. It stucks at the loading screen and shows this message. There is nothing I can do to fix that because the game literally works, my account is corrupted from the game side.

Having the same issue. I had it installed once on my laptop months ago but recently needed to repair and wipe said laptop and now I'm stuck on this error message. Tried all the suggested fixes with proxy and downloading from epic games with no luck. Had trouble getting it on my phone but switching off wifi to data fixed that issue. Idk what's going on but it's frustrating!

This morning it was fine and after one hour the game was searching for server and told me "Error updating data" and now i'm stuck on startup with this message.
I've tried on another computer and it's the same issue.
My connection is ok, I'm using it to write this ticket.
I saw it will have an update later, maybe is it connected ?

I have the same issue on PC, it's been more than a week, i tried everything along with uninstalling and then installing again but it doesn't resolve my issue. It started on the date of the update, not knowing there was a maintenance update on the 27/8 i tried to log in which was my bad and it started with the black screen and only the cursor some music in the background as soon as i logged in. After a few days and tries of fixing this problem, looking up solutions, i even tried making an account on Epic Games to launch the game from there. Never managed to fix it and it's been more than a week, now at the launch of the game i get this error. I tried contacting support but they cannot help me unfortunately...

I solve the problem here guys! I was installing the game not in my primary HD. So the wizards could not identify properly. Wizards support is the worst.. ¬¬

I reinstalled the game for the 4th time (the 2nd on epic) and got to play 3 games. After that the problem persists. Is really annoying how the support doesn't care.
The troubleshooting advice simply doesn't help.

Same problem here for two days. I've uninstalled+reinstalled, tried installing through Epic, and restarted my computer. I don't know how much more fully I can "fully relaunch the game client".
