Error Updating Data
The game is stuck on startup.
It says : "Error Updating Data - Please check your connection and try again".
Obviously my connection work just fine. I think this is a bug.

Don't worry, you guys aren't alone. With 201 votes this is bound to get some attention and resolved. In the meantime my friend gets to log on and have fun with the new set while I wait in limbo, lol

both on phone and pc my game would get stuck on the "error updating data" screen after the "loading initial scene" screen. I reset my PC, and now my game just gets stuck on the "checking for active matches" screen.

Same. Problem occurs on my PC, ipad. Iphone. Reset the wifi/modem did not help. Playing on cellular data did not help. Created a dummy account and was able to play. (But I lose years and years of progress………)

After Patch 2023.33.0 my Arena Client is giving me this error. Have tried numerous solutions and nothing has worked including:
Uninstalling and Reinstalling Arena
Uninstall and Reinstall in Epic Games Launcher
Adjusting my Windows Proxy Settings
Using a VPN
Factory Resetting My Laptop and Re-Installing ArenaNone of the above solutions have worked and I'm not sure what else to try.

The persistent issue being unable to fully launch the client met with the error "Error Updating Data," issue is persistent across devices and different internet service providers and locks the account entirely.

Same issue for me. I haven't been able to play since the update. There are many others in the MTGA subreddit that also have the same issue. They think the update caused an account issue because they also have the issue on other platforms.
