Same issue persists for me. I'm feeling disheartened at the lack of response and waiting times for this issue to be resolved. I was really excited to play MTGA, but I now have negative feelings toward the game and a growing sense of resentment. Very disappointed.

Guys i also lost my FNM streak... WoTC fix the servers! It's annoying to see loading screen, listen music and find out how cool cursor's design is.

Same black screen with sound and cursor after game loads problem.
I even uninstalled, downloaded the game and reinstalled it. Nothing works.
I am glad I found this forum and all these posts or else I would keep trying to fix this on my own. I wish Wizards would post some sort of announcement acknowledging the specific problem and an ETA on a possible fix . . .

After some reinstalls and removing registry entrys i created a new MTG A account and tried to login with that Account, this Account dont get a black screen.

I attached two Logs for each account (subtimal_test, working NEW account) and (suptimal, broken OLD account)

after the update from 18.09. it shows only a black screen. i only listen to background music. i paid for the premium pass. how do i get the xp points i am missing now. after every update there are problems with the game. it's no fun anymore. don't learn from your mistakes. please fix it fast or that's it with magic online for me

I lost several daily and % of vault in this hour without playing.

Same problem here.

Problem:
After launching game, Waiting for server image appears for a few seconds, then the screen is black with no menu options. I can hear the sound of the menu appearing, but nothing shows up but the cursor.

Troubleshooting so far:
1) Forced a reconnect by disabling Wireless adapter. Same problem
2) Reboot of computer, same problem
3) Uninstall/reinstall the game, same problem
4) Flushed DNS, same problem
5) Updated Graphic Drivers and rebooted, same problem
6) Manually added DNS entries of 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, same problem
7) Removed registry entries for Screen adjustments, same problem
8) Updated C++ and rebooted, same problem

Conclusion, "Your **** be *********...." : )

Same issue, black screen, cursor and sound after "loading initial screen". How are you guys logging out with the black screen? I'm up for trying the second account but I can't even log out right now?

Same here. Game boots up, then the loading screen, followed by the waiting for server icon and then only black screen with music and cursor but nothing else. Tried the suggested link by WOTC for the Visual Studio C++ 2019 update, deleted and reinstalled MTG Arena and my graphic drivers, also tried some different settings for graphics, but nothing works!

I played all 25 FNM at Home event and hate to break this streak by not being able to play because of problems from WotC!

Hikingnola is correct, If you logout then log back in on another account, then log out and try again on the first account, it works!! Thank You!!!!

Same problem. I've been trying all day and haven't gotten in.

After the message "loading initial scene,"it says "waiting for server" for a while then goes to BLACK SCREEN with only the audio and cursor.

I've tried two different computers and two different networks. I've tried completely reinstalling Arena on one of the machines. None of this worked. Same problem: black screen with audio and cursor.
