I will be uninstalling MTG Arena until Alchemy is no longer affecting the historic format. I am a regular purchaser of the $50 pre-order pack bundles as well as the set mastery pass plus various other gem reloads during sets for drafts/sealed. Arena/WOTC will not see a cent of my money(admittedly not that much compared to Whales or content creators) until they revert this asinine, greedy change.

Keep this fix-standard scheme out of Historic please

I don't know if anyone will read this, but please don't consider historic a 'live format'. Its main purpose in the first place that people were asking for was to have an eternal format in MTG Arena and this move absolutely renders this moot. How can you have an eternal format if it its cards suddenly are different from what they were printed as, or follow different mechanics from other play modes? Where is the overlap between people who enjoy Historic and people who would like to try out a new format in Alchemy?

I probably have thousands of hours playing the various Historic modes, it is my favourite format on Arena and the closest thing we have to any of the eternal paper formats. If the only flavour of paper Magic we can play on Arena going forward is Standard, I think you will lose a lot of players coming from or primarily playing paper Magic. I certainly don't know if I'll stick around if this happens as planned.

Please reconsider.

Please give us a place to play with old standard cards and quit making Historic no longer "historic". Adding random cards, creating digital-only cards, and now altering existing cards in a "historic" format makes me completely disinterested in the format and MTGA in general. Having the risk of my deck being changed on a whim makes me want to never invest in any deck whatsoever.

I will stop playing the game until the decision had been reverted.

Please leave historic alone. Rebalancing cards for standard but having the changes carry over to Historic doesn't make any sense.

Why can’t there be Historic - Alchemy, and Historic as we know it now? I came back to Magic after 20 years away, and during the pandemic it was a godsend. I find myself enjoying Arena the most when I play historic. This proposed change would really turn me away from the game.

Please leave historic alone. We need a non-rotating format that doesn't include digital-only cards. Historic or otherwise. Please!

I'm really concerned that alchemy cards that are nerfed for standard are going to affect historic. It logically doesn't make sense for cards that are going to be redesigned for a modified standard to go straight into magics non-rotating format. What is more I'm really unhappy with with the plan to not refund wildcards when a card that I play in historic is rebalanced for standard alchemy.

I've bought SPECIFIC CARD in the game with the expectation that I can play it in a format, now all of a sudden the card is going to be changed to accommodate a format that I don't play and there will be no recompense. This is all really disheartening.

I always liked that MTG doesnt change cards after release. Its one of the advantages that MTG has over other online TCGs. I spend lots of money on arena, if i knew this is coming i would never spend a singel dollar. I dont hate the idea of online only format that balance cards on regular basis to shake the meta, i actually think its great but dont force me to play it! With no other option. I paid for the cards dont touch them!!!!

Historic and Standard being true to their paper experience is why many play this game. Exploring digital-only formats has its value, but please leave it separate in its own world.

Don't mess with historic. You have a ****** economy and now you want to kill your only long term format.

Have you considered having historic and altered historic as separate formats ?

If the cards I'm playing with in historic are banned the facto from the format due to a change and players aren't compensated for that, it's a dealbrealer.

Leave historic alone.

If historic is no longer eternal, I'll probably quit arena. Either leave it alone or add pioneer.

Nothing against adding a new digital-only format but please leave well-liked existing formats alone. Historic brawl is the closest thing we have to paper Commander.
