golden pack bug
Hello, I purchased some packs today for FDN release and went to go open the golden packs that I received and I shortly started getting all gems in the rare slot, but I still have standard legal rares(with the ?booster tag) that are unowned, at 74% complete for standard rares. I'm assuming this is a bug as I thought golden pack duplicate slots protection went same set/rarity-> standard legal/same rarity -> alchemy legal/same rarity-> then gems.
Edit: this was on android mobile using the open 10 packs button on the golden packs.

Its been brought to my attention that ICR's and Golden packs only give cards in the current alchemy rotation despite the fact that those "3 year old" legal standard packs still give gold progress... Let Golden Packs and ICRs fully support standard, and other eternal formats! Especially with Pioneer Masters coming

I cracked 2 more packs for screen shots to confirm. There are only 2 possibilities I can think of either the golden pack duplicate protection is bugged, or the 2 cards from the latest set & the final 3 cards from any current standard-legal set intentionally don't pull from the standard pool before granting gems if that "set" is rare complete... Which honestly is still an issue and makes gold packs basically worthless.

I've had a similar issue. I opened some golden packs just prior to FDN release and get all gems for my rare slots. I was missing ONE, BRO, and DMU rares, but had the rest of standard legal rares.
My understanding on how golden packs work is the same as yours, except I thought that standard sets in the last 2 years were given priority over standard sets released over 2 years ago.

The only reason you should get a 5th copy from a Golden Pack is that you’re rare complete across all of Standard (which doesn’t sound like the case here). Please do contact support; even if you don’t have logs or pics, having your playerId will let our data team dig back in the history and hopefully see what happened.
We’ll be investigating this (and the other, similar report) and will fix any errors we find.

Golden Packs
Golden Packs are acquired for every 10 Duskmourn: House of Horror and/or Alchemy: Duskmourn packs purchased. Each Golden Pack contains 6 Rares or Mythic Rares across Standard sets. At least one card per pack will be Mythic from any standard-legal set, 2 cards will be Rare or Mythic from the latest set, and the final 3 cards will be Rare or Mythic from any current standard-legal set. Rares can upgrade to Mythic Rares at a rate of approximately 1:8. Golden Packs will not grant wildcards, but will advance the wildcard track.
