Card description says “Enchanted permanent doesn't untap during its controller's untap step.” It doesn’t automatically tap the enchanted creature. Opponent must pay 3 mana to tap my creature.

For some reason the extra effect triggered, with my opponent only having 3 lands. Also, he casted gremlin tamer right before playing this card.
