Reward participation as well, not just winning.
What really seems to be missing in MTGA right now is a way to play the game without the only incentive being winning. This means that players will, by and large, only build their decks according to "the meta" which allows them to get the easiest wins to get their dailies done.
This makes for a very frustrating type of experience. When playing ranked, this is obviously expected, but any unranked play also heavily incentivizes winning only due to the dailies.
I propose to make a slight change to the way the daily track works. It still gives the rewards when you win, but it gives a percentage of the reward when you draw or lose (say 25-50%), provided the game lasted at least 3 turns for both players (both have to have hit 'end turn' 3 times). 2-4 losses this way gets them to the next level. A win gets them to the next level as usual.
This has beneficial effects for everyone involved.
This way, losing doesn't mean that the player feels that their time was "wasted" and they still make progress. It also means they can feel more free to try absolute jank decks in any casual mode and play to simply have fun, rather than feeling forced to follow the meta.
Even for WotC this is beneficial. It incentivizes players to play more, thus causing higher engagement. It also means players are more likely to seek out more wildcards for non-meta decks, implying higher sales.
The only downside, players trying to "game" the system by going land-pass quickly, should probably be balanced by the fact games have to last 3 turns for a loss/concede to count as a game played (unless the winning player manages a turn 1-2 win, then the loss does count), so there's time spent waiting for a match, then going through a game as normal, which heavily depends on the opponent.
I think this would be a win-win for everyone.
