Timeless Packs
There are different types of players in MTGA. I myself am primarily a limited player, but above all a collector. While I used to be able to combine these two types of play perfectly, I am now becoming increasingly frustrated with the ever-growing pool of cards that are “craft only.” For example, while Commander cards used to be available through the Mastery Pass or even in Draft Boosters (Modern Horizons 3), they can now only be obtained through crafting. The same applies to a number of other cards and now, apparently, bonus sheets as well. In previous sets, these cards were available in packs with a reasonable probability, which made limited formats more varied and allowed the cards to be collected at the same time. Now the rates have been reduced so much (and, as I've heard, are set to be reduced further) that they practically no longer play a role in limited and can only be crafted for collecting purposes. Of course, I only have a small data pool here and could just have been unlucky, but in my 40 drafts and 7 sealed events for Through the Omenpaths so far, I haven't gotten a single Mythic Rare from the bonus sheet. I haven't even seen one being played from my opponents in all those games. I've only seen a handful of lower rarity cards from the bonus sheet but not many. While I would strongly advocate significantly increasing the pull rates for bonus sheets again, I have another suggestion in case this is not desirable for whatever reasons and which would at least satisfy collectors: Timeless Packs. Or whatever you want to call them, Timeless Packs, Eternal Packs, Mystery Packs, it doesn't matter. These packs work just like normal booster packs, but contain random cards from all cards available in MTGA, including Commander cards, bonus sheets, other craft-only cards, etc. They would also be available in normal and Mythic Packs for 1000 and 1300 gold, respectively. In my opinion, these packs would be a great way to be surprised about what you get and draw cards that you would never have seen otherwise. For collectors with large collections, the chance of drawing Craft Only cards also increases. All while draining players gold mostly for cards, they otherwise never would have spent ressources on. I’d really love to have this implemented.
