Indestructible Vs Deathtouch didn't work correctly

I played Origin of Metal bending before combat even began and used its indestructible feature on my Callous Inspector. Then the opponent bot attacked with Typhoid Rats. Both of our creatures died. There are no other interactions. To my understanding my creature should not have died.
