South Wind Avatar + Earthbend
"Whenever another creature you control dies, you gain life equal to its toughness" didn't proc when I sacrificed a land creature with two counters on it (via Earthbend). It -does- die, but the ability doesn't trigger in-between the land going to the graveyard and being brought back.
