Unacceptable Consumer Loss / Complete Destruction of Real-Money Investments via Recent Bans and Rebalances
To Wizards of the Coast Support and Product Management,
I am writing to formally log my extreme dissatisfaction and demand accountability regarding the recent October 2026 balance changes, which have completely destroyed my significant financial and time investments in MTG Arena.
Specifically, your development team has completely ruined two of my primary competitive decks:
1. Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow: Banned entirely from the Command Zone, rendering the entire 99-card competitive archetype obsolete.
2. Nashi, Illusion Gadgeteer: Rebalanced by completely stripping the "Flash" keyword from the card, stripping away its competitive viability and making the deck unplayable in the meta.
I spent my hard-earned money buying gems, grinding countless hours, and investing a massive number of rare and mythic wildcards to construct these specific competitive decks. By banning a commander or completely altering how a digital-only card functions, you are not just changing a single card—you are completely invalidating the entire package of 99 cards built specifically around them.
Refunding a single wildcard for a banned commander while leaving players holding a useless deck of secondary cards is an insulting and predatory economic policy. You have fundamentally altered a digital product after taking my money for it.
I am demanding that Wizards of the Coast implement a fair compensation model that refunds the wildcard investment of the entirely ruined deck archetypes, not just the single face card. Until my account value and time are respected, I will continue to signal my dissatisfaction across all official feedback and transaction review channels.
I expect this ticket to be escalated to product management and explicitly logged as a customer retention and economy complaint.

Balancing changes are absolutely necessary in any competitive game. A card getting banned and "ruining" a deck does not invalidate all those other cards being in your collection that can go to building other decks. You still hold the monetary value of owning all those cards/wild cards minus the one which they refunded. Plenty of decks get shut down by balancing changes and it's 100% a necessary evil. You going hey these decks and cards aren't broken anymore I want a full refund isn't how card games or any games work. Balancing and errata'd cards will always be a thing in all card games.
