Error Updating Data
The game is stuck on startup.
It says : "Error Updating Data - Please check your connection and try again".
Obviously my connection work just fine. I think this is a bug.
Thank you for your time and patience

The same issue here after today's update on PC and restarting the game once.
Android did not work right after update.Deleting the update manifest file helps on Windows...

I updated the game then started up fine on my Android. I won my first match of standard 2022 mid week magic and then got an error message saying Error Updating Data. Now I can't play at all. Tried restarting the game but same message appears.

Following the comment by https://feedback.wizards.com/users/5500850649--iln-1-80024 worked for me. The actual file(s) to delete are:
%MTGA_Install_Dir%\MTGA_Data\Downloads\Manifest_*.mtga
e.g.
C:\Program Files\Wizards of the Coast\MTGA\MTGA_Data\Downloads\Manifest_39841652dc16278da5893053aa6d484d.mtga

This happened on my IPad Pro. I changed the setting of save downloads to the cloud drive to save downloads to the computer (IPad), and I was then able to finish and complete the download

On PC, deleting the old downloads.manifest file worked.

Make sure you've updated your Android Game Client on the App Store to
Version 2021.4.10.662 -

Check the comments below to make sure you're not running in the IPv4/IPv6 issue mentioned. I detail some steps on how to test this.

I've got to assume it's an incompatibility thing but, I would report it because I hear you. It's why I play on PC anytime I can. It's just a better experience but, being able to do it on the phone for a quick game/s on the go, awesome

Yes, on my Pixel 5 the app works just great. But for sure not as awesome as it could be on a convertible chromebook.

Ok, just wanted to make sure it wasn't a IPV4/IPV6 negotiation issue.
Thanks for the info on no side load either. I know there is a page somewhere in the forums that seemed where people were reporting their devices that won't work. I think I remember seeing it under "mobile" and it was a highly voted one too.
By chance, have you had it work on an Android phone?

@HeyBuferd
Thanks for you comment. Now I just installed the warp app from the PlayStore and setup VPN. Still the same problem. It also doesn't matter if I use my wifi at home or using a hot spot from my mobile phone. Any other advices to solve the problem? I didn't sideloaded the app on my chromebook, it just shows up at the store. My old chromebook for example didn't showed it up at the store.
Did someone of the developers take notice of this problem on chromebooks? -

Try seeing if you can use a VPN by chance like I mentioned below. I assume there might be something with it being a Chromebook and just not supported yet. However, your Play Store should have filtered it if it wasn't compatible.
Try the VPN route and report back if that works
