Error Updating Data
The game is stuck on startup.
It says : "Error Updating Data - Please check your connection and try again".
Obviously my connection work just fine. I think this is a bug.

My game started working yesterday, thanks for that!
Then I got home today and played from 4:00pm CST to 4:50pm CST with no problems. Then I completed a Historic Brawl game, once I was done with that game I started experiencing this connection/update error again.
I restarted Arena, and now I just get a blank screen. At first I got the splash screen and notifications (asset manifest, etc), then an error message that connection was lost, then an attempt to reconnect.
Then the screen went blank. No error message, not even a swirling circle.
So I restarted again. Same error messages, but at least this time I'm getting a constant swirling circle. Oh wait, screen went blank again.

I was also able to start Arena successfully (it still took a second to connect to the server). I closed the program and tried again and it worked.

We still don't have a ETA on a fix but they have apparently located the cause and it is related to having historic brawl decks with commanders that have the specialized mechanic. Amazonian has a video on YouTube where they talk about it.

i got the same issue.
I tried reinstalling, even through different launchers (Steam and Mtga Installer)
I tried setting my ipv4 dns server as 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
I am not behind any local network Proxies
But I do have a specialize Commander deck in my Collectionlogs dont say anything.

Also experiencing this issue. Have tried all sorts of network settings adjustment as well as multiple full deletion, PC restart, reinstalls. I can confirm that I have a brawl deck with a specialize commander.

I’ve also been experiencing this bug which has been extremely annoying seeing how wizards marked my support ticket as solved yet twelve hours after they supposedly fixed the issue I’m still locked out of the account. There has been no communication from their team on what’s happening other than “well let you know when it’s fixed” (I had to go back in to see they market my ticket as solved and received no contact from the team). This has to be the single most unprofessional way I’ve seen a team address a game breaking bug that only affects the accounts. Yall better be handing out some top tier reimbursements for your abysmal handling of the situation especially gaslighting players into having less open tickets in your IT department. An utter embarrassment of how a company can handle this type of bug.

How is this still not addressed? MTG is reflecting all systems “green” when in actuality no one can even log in and play the game. This is perhaps the most epic failure in a dev update I’ve ever witnessed and I work in IT so I’ve seen some stuff. This apparently is affecting all platforms, I’m on IOS and get the same error message and ran through the same troubleshooting steps and still can’t log in 3 days later. MTG, back out your code and take it back to QA until it’s fixed.

I am also getting this error message. 3 days of no play?!?! Wtf wotc and your site reports back no problems. Clearly a lot of other users and myself are having problems.
