Overheating/Heavy Memory Usage
I have a Macbook Pro (2015) running on Sierra. I downloaded MTG Arena yesterday and started playing. Within 30 seconds, my computer began revving up like a jet plane taking off for a one-way trip to Nowhere Town. Over the years, I have used this computer for lengthy sessions for design in Photoshop, animation in Clip Studio Paint, and music production in Ableton and never have I heard my computer make this horrid sound or become this blisteringly hot. My computer's memory usage immediately rockets to an overwhelming degree and even when I free up the memory, the computer continues to bellow like an opera singer on her final night on stage. I hope a bug fix can address this issue because I cannot safely use this program without concern that the high levels of heat will damage my computer. Please look into this Wizards/Epic!

Same problem with brand new msi razer laptop, and with it having a 12th generation i7, geforce 3070ti and 32GB of RAM it makes no sense, it's clearly a software problem.

Looks like this is an issue again after the last update. CPU usage, Memory usage, & GPU usage have all doubled or more when in a game.

I have recently purchased a MacBook Pro M1 and I am very happy about the MTGA software that runs smoothly.
However, despite the very good performance of the computer, that never overheats even when using quite heavy graphic elaboration software, I am experiencing a overheating issue (basically every time I play some games, it overheats a lot and the fan starts as informed by previous players).
I have also installed the game on my iPhone but there the problem does not exist (obviously it is a different software and platform).
I would like to know if it is possible to avoid such matter somehow, since my laptop is new, with excellent specs that allows me to play AAA games without problems.
Thank you very much,
Best regards,

I have the same issue on a 2019 16". Not only can I not make the window full screen and have to manually change the resolution of my screen but my Mac restarts after about 10 minutes. I ended up just buying istat pro so I can manually turn the fans all the way up. That has helped. It just makes my Mac sound like a jet.

Same here! Macbook 2019. It's crazy how hot it gets. Is it bad coding?

I've found a work around for my machine. Might be of some use until it gets sorted properly. If I reduce the resolution to half of the max, my machine still runs hot but not to the point where I think damage is being done to it. (Maybe it's retina machines having the problem…) It does result in a tiny little screen, but then you can use the accessibility options to zoom in (opt/cmd/plus and minus keys). Flick them on in the accessibility system prefs pane if they aren't already on. Janky, but janky magic is better than no magic :P

Yep, same thing on my 2018 MBP. Happens as soon as the animations and attack phases kick off. Becomes almost too hot to touch very quickly and even had it shutdown due to overheating a couple of times. A friend is running it on a 2013 MBP with no problems…

I have the same issue on my 2015 MacBook Pro.
I experienced similar overheating when I tried running via Windows/Bootcamp. Was really hoping that it would be resolved with proper Mac support :(
It's so frustrating after waiting so long to be able to play!
