Mouse clicks are unreliable on Mac
I've installed Arena on two different Macs, and they’re both having the same issue: mouse interaction is very unreliable. Clicking on things doesn’t always work — I’ll often have to click a button or a card multiple times to get it to register, but then occasionally it’ll work fine on the first try. This is true throughout the interface — from the home screen to in-game actions (for example, when clicking the “Play” button on the home screen, I routinely needed to click at least three times to get the blade to open). Dragging cards has also been very fickle, whether when scrying, mulliganing, or playing from my hand.
The issue seems to be worse when the interface is larger; lowering the game resolution so the window became smaller felt like it helped a bit, though it’s still unreliable (and I’d like to play fullscreen/as large as possible).
System details: One is a 27-inch iMac (2019), the other is a 15-inch MacBook Pro (2013). The iMac is using the standard wireless Magic Mouse, the MBP is using the built-in trackpad. The clicking/dragging issues feel the same on both machines.
P.S. Thanks to the dev team who worked hard to make the Mac version, I'm so excited it's finally here!

I just started playing in the last few weeks, and I get this issue intermittently. Really annoying.
Shocked to see it's exactly 4 years old....

This resolved it for me, https://www.reddit.com/r/MagicArena/comments/nxqp6q/macos_users_here_is_how_you_get_fullscreen_and/
Basically, I went to this site and followed instructions.
The gear tab mentioned here is not available but under the "Unreadl Engine" section of the interface I found the "settings" gear, scrolled to MTG Arena, and entered this into the command line prompt-force-metal -force-low-power-device -screen-fullscreen 1
voila, back to full screen mode and mouse working.

Three years later and not even an attempt to address this completely game breaking bug. It's like they don't even want people to be able to play.

I'm coming back to this waaaaaaay later after seeing this issue in another game. I believe this may be related to apps like Magnet running. Magnet is a window-snapping tool which runs in the background and snaps windows to the sides of your screen when you enter keypresses or drag a window to a side or corner. For whatever reason, Magnet seems to interfere with click actions in this game and possibly others.
Exiting Magnet seems to stop this issue from happening.

The issue here seems to be that the click is slightly delayed, which is why holding on a card for a long time works. You click, but the click doesn't actually "happen" until a fraction of a second later.
The result of this is if you're moving your mouse shortly after clicking, like when you're clicking to drag a card out, the click will actually "happen" somewhere other than the card.
This issue is easily reproducible. To do so, you can click on any card, button, or interface element and then quickly move your cursor off the thing you're clicking on. If your cursor moves off the element quickly enough you will see that the click "misses" the element, and instead falls on the element your cursor was on when the delayed click fired off.
When people are dragging cards out they are doing the click and drag motion pretty quickly, so the click doesn't register on the card and instead is registered partway through the drag motion, when the cursor has already moved off of the card.

My game mostly works, as long as I don't mulligan or scry. Those two interactions have significant issues much of the time.

I have the same issue on my Win10 laptop. Clicking with the trackpad registers about half the time at best. Clicking with a USB mouse works perfectly fine. Please fix!

Just installed MTGA on my new M1 Macbook Air. Mouse performance is terrible. I wouldn't say that it's "unreliable", but there is a very noticeable delay between clicking the mouse and the game registering a click. Clicking and dragging cards is very frustrating if you're used to playing on Windows where everything is smooth and buttery.

I quit playing MTG Arena because of this.
No Fullscreen on MacBook Pro 2020. With terminal hacks you can force fullscreen but the UI does not respond to the Mouse clicks. -

I think it's a pointer alignment issue while in letterboxed full screen mode. To hit a button near the bottom of the screen, I have to aim way low. To hit one near the top, I have to aim too high.

I got exactly the same problem but on PC w. Win10. The clicks wont register unless you click repeatedly and Ive even had occasions when it simply wouldnt take any input and I had to make a hard exit out of the program.

I am having exact same issues, mouse is very unreliable, it takes up to 10 clicks to make it works, game experiences is terrible and almost unusable. I am using it in a Mac Mini 2019, and the problems is the same in Full screen or windowed mode.

Same Issue over here... I think that the fullscreen option is a main issue. Hope this gets fixed somehow fast because playing it like this is not a lot of fun.
But I know how hard it is to fix those things. If you guys (developers) need any more info (about the system, attatched displays etc.) let us know. Guess all are happy to provide it as long as it solves this problem!
