This appears to be a common problem. I am on Windows 10, just installed the game for the first time on this computer. Every time I launch, I get a message that says "An asset error occurred during your last play session. Validating asset files to ensure stability, this may take a while." At the end of the validation process, I get another error which says "Asset Error Detected: Arena will relaunch to verify asset contents."

I have never successfully loaded the game. This is a loop that I cannot get out of.

Please do not respond and direct me to your troubleshooting page, there is no resolution to this problem there. I have already looked.

Bug persists more than 24 hours post update. I am able to access from phone, unable to access from macos epic launcher. I will open a bug with their team and hopefully they can push your team to follow suit, or fix the bug themselves.

If an update occurred, and that update is not yet available for download or is not triggered/prompted/presented in the Epic Launcher page -> Then MTGA presents a recursive loop with the message "asset error detected arena will relaunch to verify asset contents". There is no way to escape this, through uninstalling of the game, launcher, restarting, reformatting, or using disk utility. The app will be unusable as long as this is available.

Previous solutions included changing language packs, however on macos this is not a solution that works.

Correlation: iOS displays "Server Maintenance" during the time that this error began in macos. The iOS application will also not work until it is updated to the latest version.

Conclusion, ensure simultaneous update is pushed to Epic Games Launcher when performing maintenance that requires an update to launch the game.

Same issue on PC o_O its really interesting that we're all using different platforms and having the same issue, yet this issue isn't insanely widespread as I'm the only person I know who has it among the people I know who play mtga.

For anyone who has the time I would suggest a re-format. I'm not quite there yet. Tech support told me to uninstall MTGA with a third party uninstaller but that didn't work. Maybe a registry cleaner? ~_~

I have this same issue, but following the patch on the 13th of May.

Every time I try to open the app I get an Asset Error message. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, as well as rebooting my phone multiple times to no avail.

I have spend loads of money on this game so would like to get this issue fixed so I can carry on playing magic.

I just got this with todays update. It goes on and on updating the game.

Usually it's a crapshoot with each update. I'm tired of uninstalling and installing again everytime there's an update.

I updated the latest game program today. Now this problem occurs every time I start the game, and then I can't enter the game normally.

I have this issue about 1/2 of the time for the past week or so.

I can't open MTGA on android. Recive asset error.

I get an asset error detected message and arena relaunches, and it happens again.. and again... and again...

Every time I have tried to log in to MTGA on my Mac since the Strixhaven patch got downloaded, I get a loading screen and then it ends with the attached screen shot. Once I click OK on that screenshot, it goes back to the loading screen and then lands me back at the screenshot below.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled MTGA multiple times and it has not resolved this issue.

Can you please let me know if there is anything I can do to resolve this issue?

I now also get this error everytime I start Arena. Then I get a black screen sayin i need to restart so it is an endless loop. Can't start the game. WTH is this?

I was disconnected from a game in the FNM event. Upon relaunching the game, there was an asset error that needed revalidating. After the load finished, I still was not able to log in.

had like 5 asset errors today. and they havent allowed me to play games w a friend, as i make a challenge, he enters the game and i get an error
