Scrolling on iOS while choosing a target is impossible
Had to target a creature pre-combat and my intended target was offscreen. I tried to scroll across the battlefield to the one I wanted and I registered the creature I tapped when I started scrolling as the target. It was a critical turn and I lost a game I would have otherwise won in my draft, feels like a huge bummer since I hit 3 losses early as a result.
I did my due diligence and looked for any other way to scroll across the battlefield, and as far as I can tell there isn’t one. I’m not sure if there even was a way to target what I wanted to there.

Agree. There is all kinds of weird motion at points in the iOS app. My opponent will cast a spell and their lands will slide off screen until the next step. Heliod will be in the enchantment area, and whenever I lose, Heliod slides into the battle row (just before the “Defeat” screen); thanks for showing up, Heliod! I’ve seen similar things with opponents’ Heliods and gods like him. But targeting is especially egregious and is not just a cosmetic flaw; it affects gameplay and has caused me mistakes during play. Lately, even when I can target a creature, the pop up (when holding on the image) shows the one next to it, not the one I tapped on, or a card effect is applied to an adjacent target. All of these examples illustrate that the iOS app was not adequately tested before release.
