Legalize Channel In Historic
I feel Channel could safely be unbanned in the current historic meta. Here are some reasons why:
1) It takes a very specific deck to work. Not all decks can run it
2) Tibalt's Trickery is not banned. While Trickery does have an element of randomness, you aren't losing the 10 life it would take to drop an Ulamog or Ugin. 10 life is a lot in the current format, which is partly why Beledross isn't seeing a lot of play.
Leading into the third point, Trickery has usually enough payoffs such as Ultimatums to almost guarantee Ulamog, or even worse, every time they go off
3) It's a lot of life. Spending 10 life to play Ulamog is powerful, and annoying turn 2 for the opponent, but he can be dodged around with lots of creatures, counterspells (common) or exiles (also common). It's also hard to consistently guarantee Ulamog/Channel in a hand. Ugin would be devastating, but Ugin could honestly be banned in Historic and there wouldn't be very many bad feelings since he's super powerful when he comes out early (And I realize that unbanning Channel would increase early Ugins, but I feel trading Ugin for Channel would be ok).
So overall, maybe let Channel roam free for a little bit and see what happens to the meta, with the possibility of a reban/other bannings if it proves more powerful than I believe? Thank you!

Tibalt's trickery is a mono red counter spell meant to be used in conjunction with roiling vortex. It's not banned because the people using it on themselves barely win games. Trying to compare it to channel, a card that actually is meant to be used on yourself..is fruitless at best.
But what do I really know, not like I've ever beaten anyone in the top 50 with my tibalt red deck and was inches away from being on the leaderboard multiple seasons in a row or anything. If anything, they should redo the card so that it doesn't allow being cast on yourself, simply because it's causing people to be caught off guard when someone uses it on them and they do not push the big blue decline button and INSTANTLY LOSE THE GAME.
just like the people who think that taking an opt from allure of the unknown..IS WORTH TAKING 20 DAMAGE FOR from multiple roiling vortex's.It was funny the first few times..NOW IT'S JUST ALARMING HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN'T CLICK BIG BLUE DECLINE BUTTONS AND LOSE GAMES JUST TO CAST A FROSTBITE ON THEIR OWN CREATURE BECAUSE THEY THINK THEY ARE GETTING A CARD FOR FREE. IT'S EVEN MORE ALARMING WHEN PEOPLE IN THE TOP 300 IN THE WORLD ARE DOING THIS.
