quests are boring
Daily quests fall into 3 categories:
• Boring: cast n spells
• Annoying: Play n lands
• Literally unfun: Kill n of your opponents creatures.
Ideally the quest system would get a full overhaul to look something like hearthstones or better. Just picking which flavor deck I'm going to play is barely interactive at all. However I understand that workhours are finite so I'd really settle for removing "Kill n of your opponents creatures"
First of all, its a slog. It makes the land quest look easy and that one is also a slog because most ramp doesn't "Play" lands but "puts it onto the battlefield tapped"(so it might as well read play n turns of magic) But there's no guarantee you're going to be able to kill a creature in a game. Creatureless control decks are not exactly rare.
Secondly, its unfun. Its one thing to play around a playset of boardwipes and/or removal, but no one wants to play against a deck just chock full of it. And it turns out when people aren't having fun, they forfeit, and when they forfeit you can't kill any more of their creatures. You aren't playing magic against an opponent you're just being a jerk.
I'd love to see things like, "Play n ______ creatures" where you get to pick the tribe and the reward is based on how common the tribe is played. Goblins? 500 gold, Rhinos? 2000.
or "Win with this card in your deck" and it gives you a promo playset of a card(temporarily until you beat the quest)
