Make the power 9 craftable for direct challenge and cube formats
When I saw the initial spoiler that the "power 9 were coming to arena", I was on the edge of my seat reading more. Utter disappointment filled me when I learned that they were not in fact coming to arena, except in a very indirect manner via one card, Oracle of the Alpha. While this is still pretty cool, in my opinion this diminishes the main source of excitement.
Anyone with any background in software engineering will easily understand that making these cards craftable is a trivial matter of configuration. The engine already supports drawing these cards, playing them, tapping them, interacting with every other card, etc. So why not go the extra mile and make them craftable? This is not to add them to Historic; cards from the Strixhaven Mystical Archives such as Dark Ritual, Channel, and Natural Order are banned in historic but can provide unlimited fun for specific subsets of the player base that enjoy cube formats or direct challenge. MTGGoldfish even made a video surrounding these cards which grew significant attention and promoted the game. It seems to me an irrational choice to not do the same for the power 9. Even if we disregard the business logistics and just speak of what a great game MTG arena is, the argument becomes even stronger. I want to believe that it is the future of MTG digital play. The lack of many formats and many cards and the slow progress in achieving them, however, has been a real setback. It is understandable that it would take immense time and resources to implement them, but in this case, the engine clearly already supports these cards.
I impore WoTC to reconsider their decision to keep these cards uncraftable. It is about making the game as best as it can be.
